Starting a Work Order¶
Start a work order when you are ready to begin the job and have confirmed that the information shown in Traffic Escort Warden is the correct record for the work you are undertaking :)
Before you begin¶
- Confirm you are viewing the intended work order, including its date, location and permit details where shown.
- Complete any required preparation and safety checks before starting work.
- Make sure your device has a reliable connection, or follow your organisation's offline-work procedure if one applies.
Check the record before starting
Starting a work order may begin the operational record for that job. If the work order does not look right, do not proceed—check with your supervisor or usual support contact first.
Start the work order¶
- Open Work Orders and select the work order you are about to perform.
- Review the work order details and any checklist or permit information available in the app.
-
Select the action used to begin the work order.
Action label to confirm
TODO: Confirm the exact AppSheet button label used to start a work order, then replace this wording with the approved label.
-
Complete any confirmation fields the app displays. Enter information carefully and only where it is required for the job.
- Confirm that the work order now shows its started status or start time before continuing.
Keep the job record current
If the app prompts you to save or sync, allow it to finish when it is safe to do so. This helps the work order record stay current.

Important notes¶
Use the work order assigned to the job
Do not start a different work order simply because it has similar details. If the assigned record is missing, use the guidance in Missing Work Orders.
Information displayed in the app
The fields and actions available can depend on the work order. Follow the instructions shown in the app and your approved operational procedures.
Common problems¶
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The work order is not visible | Check your connection and try syncing. If it still does not appear, see Missing Work Orders. |
| You cannot find the start action | Recheck that you opened the correct work order. TODO: Add approved guidance once the exact start-action rules are confirmed. |
| Details appear incorrect | Do not start the work order. Contact your supervisor or usual support contact with the relevant reference. |
